Construction company holds 'green dragon's den' style competition for innovative sustainable technologies

Wates Construction, who are based in London, would like to hear from firms with innovative ‘market ready’ low carbon sustainable products or technologies for their pitch-based competition.

Wates is committed to finding new products and technologies to deliver long term sustainable buildings, and have launched a competition to identify and support innovative ‘market ready’ low carbon sustainable products or technologies to support this aim.

Wates hope to discover innovations that can offer direct resource efficiency benefits to existing commercial buildings, such as reducing energy in-use, carbon emissions, waste and water usage without compromising the comfort and working conditions of building users.

Successful applicants will be given a platform to present their product to a panel of key decision makers from the Wates Smartspace business, the Wates supply chain and market-leading customer base. The panel will then consider which technologies could be adopted on upcoming projects in order to meet identified sustainability challenges.

Dale Edginton, EndoTherm™ Product Manager, who took part in a previous event, said:
“The Wates Green Dragons’ Den style event was an excellent opportunity to get in front of 15 decision makers of a large multi-disciplined construction company. Since then we have had a successful trial of EndoTherm at one of their sites and I am looking forward to a long and successful working relationship. I would thoroughly recommend this event for anyone with a green innovation.”
The competition is open to applicants on a rolling basis. If you'd like to register your interest please visit the Wates website and complete a short form so that a member of their team can contact you when the next round begins.
