Cornwall's Crowdfunder and AXA start to deliver £15,000 worth of match fund for road safety initiatives across the UK
Crowdfunder is working with insurer AXA to match-fund community road safety initiatives – and has already raised funds for several projects.
Some projects have already hit their funding targets, including Trathik, a road safety games project based in Carlisle, smashed their funding target raising £3,735 and Snappy Road Safety, a road safety project aimed at disabled young people in York, has raised £1,500.
Newquay-based Crowdfunder is the UK's No1 rewards-based crowdfunding platform and helps people turn their great ideas into reality. On Crowdfunder people back projects with pledges of support in return for rewards.
As part of the RoadSafe campaign, AXA committed an initial £15,000 which will continue to be used to ‘match-fund’ the projects. Communities across the UK can get their road safety projects off the ground and gain vital funds by launching individual projects via the campaign page on Crowdfunder at www.crowdfunder.co.uk/campaign/roadsafe.
Parents or local road safety officers, schools, local campaigners, local authorities and businesses can register with AXA’s Crowdfunder campaign to fund projects from lollipop people right up to the funding of a pedestrian crossing and road safety signs around schools and play-areas. The Crowdfunder Academy coaching team have been working with each project to teach individuals how they can raise the funds from their communities.
Phil Geraghty, MD of Crowdfunder, commented:
“At Crowdfunder we are committed to helping every community in the UK raise the funds they need for more sustainable and secure society and empower them to make their roads safer for younger generations. It's great to see projects starting to hit their funding targets, we hope more and more communities will support this important campaign.”See more at: http://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/blog/2014/11/crowdfunder-axa-team-roadsafe/
