Counting down to the GAIN20
The Growth Acceleration and Investment Network (GAIN) are seeking 20 of the South West’s most exciting, game-changing businesses to form a brand new network - the GAIN20.
As part of GAIN’s agenda to create innovative opportunities for business growth in the South West, this week sees the launch of their new initiative – the GAIN20.
Working with partners from across the region, GAIN will identify and bring together 20 of the most energetic businesses from Devon, Cornwall and Somerset to share their learning and experiences for mutual benefit.
The GAIN20 project is the latest of a series of initiatives run in partnership with the ground breaking Cornwall-based crowdfunding platform, Crowdfunder.
The chosen network members will comprise a blend of small, early-stage businesses that show big growth potential, with disruptive, pioneering businesses selected from the Crowdfunder community. Half of the GAIN20 will be drawn from a GAIN-Crowdfunder initiative.
These 20 hot new companies will be introduced to a community of established pathfinder businesses who have achieved sustained growth through innovation or diversification.
Corporate Projects Manager for Plymouth University, Richard Adams, said:
“The idea behind this project is to provide the maximum knowledge and support we can over a 12 month period to some of our very best businesses. Bringing them together so they can learn on the journey from each other and our wide network of experts”
The first GAIN20 will operate over a 12 month period, in which time members will have access to exclusive marketing and networking opportunities, including:
- complimentary access to networking
groups and events – including business breakfasts with leading business
- exclusive profile-raising
blogs, diaries and articles published on www.gaininbusiness.com, together with social media promotion
- dedicated regional media
coverage through a series of professional press releases from GAIN’s corporate
- a seat at investor days
and finance events
- introductions to Plymouth
University facilities, equipment and knowledge base such as innovation centres
and incubation facilities
- peer-to-peer support
opportunities from the other GAIN20 businesses.
In addition to this, businesses sourced via the GAIN-Crowdfunder route will benefit from further investment. GAIN is looking to award up to £30,000 in grants of up to £3k for each of the ten GAIN-Crowdfunder members.
They will also be invited to take part in an exclusive workshop run by Crowdfunder and GAIN to ensure they get the very most from their crowdfunding project.
