New website and support announced in Somerset for Social Enterprises
Social Enterprise Network Somerset mark Social Enterprise Day (Thursday 19 November) with their launch and a new website.
To mark this important date in the 'not for private profit' business calendar, Social Enterprise Network Somerset (SENS) is delighted to announce that it is open for business and it has launched a new website: www.socentsomerset.org.uk
SENS is the 'one stop shop' for social enterprise support across Somerset and is now registered as a Community Interest Company.
Thanks to an Awards for All (Big Lottery) grant and support from the Somerset based Yarlington Housing and Unltd, SENS is planning a series of peer-to-peer networking and start-up training events across the county.
SENS Director, Lindy Booth said:
“We feel this is a timely announcement in the run up to Social Enterprise Day and at a time when ethical business is outperforming the wider economy. One in five business start-ups across the UK has a primarily social or environmental purpose. We have over 400 social enterprises in Somerset, with many more now in the process of launching their fledgling businesses. We are here to support them."
