Pop Up success inspires new business
Little Molly’s Crafts has taken the next step in their retail journey and opened a unit in Torquay’s indoor market.
Local crafter Janet Gartside has built on her success in the Pop up the High Street shop by opening her own unit in Torquay’s Market Forum, Market Street.
Liz Edwards, the Business Advisor leading the project, said:
“The whole concept of the Pop up shop is to give retailers a risk free, taste of the high street to help them understand if it’s right for them. The team and I are delighted that Jan has been able to go on to bigger and better things and I’m sure she’ll do very well in her new venture.”Pop up the High Street is a project designed to give home or online based retailers a chance to try out the high street for £30 a week.
Janet, who creates children’s products in unusual prints, had previously sold her handmade items online and through social media. The handmade children’s clothes and accessories include headbands, skirts, bibs and cushions.
Janet, who first retailed in Pop up the High Street in September 2015, said:
“Pop up the High Street helped turn my long standing hobby into a small business. I was so pleasantly surprised with the positive reactions from customers whilst in the pop up shop it motivated me to think about the next option for me. I’m excited about Little Molly’s Crafts’ future!”You can find Little Molly’s Crafts in the Torquay indoor market Tuesday – Saturday, 9.30am - 4.30pm or visit her Facebook page by searching for Little Molly’s Crafts for more details.
