Sir Richard Branson's 2016 search for the best businesses is underway
Virgin Media Business' VOOM 2016 campaign (formerly titled Pitch to Rich) is seeking out the most innovative and exciting businesses in UK and Ireland. Businesses across the South West are already involved.
Businesses from across the UK and Ireland, including several South West companies, have been posting their pitches online in the hope to secure votes.
Sir Richard Branson, Virgin Group Founder, said:
"Welcome to the biggest, most valuable and influential business competition in the country. Virgin Media Business's VOOM 2016 provides the golden ticket to propel your business onto a global stage and fast-track your way to success."
This year, entrants can further their chances of boosting their business thanks to the involvement of Newquay-based crowdfunding platform Crowdfunder UK. The GAIN20 Pathfinder business is not only powering the online voting platform, but will also be offering pitchers the chance of crowdfunding their idea alongside their VOOM competition entry. The top crowdfunding business will be named Champion Crowdfunder 2016 - and will win £50,000 cash and other great prizes including a bespoke media campaign from JCDecaux.
Halto are just one of the businesses to enter VOOM with a crowdfunder campaign. The start-up company offers a unique solution to painful halterneck swimwear. Run by sisters Lerryn Ryall and Lucy Cox, the Cornwall-based venture has already run a successful crowdfunding campaign and become a member of the GAIN20 this year. They hope that their simple, effective product and fun approach to marketing their brand will stand them in good stead to compete in VOOM2016.
