Start-ups Bloom at Business Bootcamp
Another cohort of exciting new businesses from across Cornwall benefitted from Unlocking Potential’s Start-up Bootcamp this month.
The 3-day Bootcamp was a fantastic opportunity for the start-up entrepreneurs, giving them the means to build a strong foundation and plan for a successful and sustainable business. Start-up businesses ranged from bookkeeping to bookbinding, floristry to photography and copywriting to carpentry.
From the first session with Enterprise Analyst, Iain Scott, to accessing Marketing expertise from Brand Consultant, Janey Pumphrey, to focussing on finance and cashflow with a team of Business Development Managers, delegates tested their ideas and tapped in to a wealth of experience and inspiration in the room. And, from the delegates’ Twitter conversations each day, the fully-funded bootcamp clearly proved invaluable; confidence was boosted, knowledge was shared and endless inspiration was given:
Bookbinder, Tim Lawrence, of the start-up business Camel Winter said:
"It was extremely useful; the speakers were all very personable, passionate and knowledgeable about their areas of expertise. They clearly cared about what they were covering with us and I think that really inspired and motivated the group as a whole. I left the course with a lot of food for thought, and feel like I am in a far better position to work on areas of my business that I would have avoided or not even considered before. The course has given me a new focus and I am really looking forward to continuing to work with the Unlocking Potential team to develop my business."
Chris Phillips, Unlocking Potential’s Business Start-Up Programme Manager, said:
"It’s always fantastic to see so many talented entrepreneurs with great ideas and passion for starting their own business. Yet again there was a real energy throughout the three days and such enthusiasm for sharing knowledge and ideas. Bootcamp continues to benefit people and businesses in Cornwall which is why we plan to continue providing this strong foundation for many more successful start-ups of the future."
Unlocking Potential offers a real recipe for success and economic growth, via their experience in training and business development as well as offering the fully-funded Start-up Bootcamp. Unlocking Potential is managed by Cornwall College and Plymouth University and funded by ESF and ERDF.
