Tech Week to celebrate digital expertise and innovation in Cornwall.
Taking place from 7 - 13 December, Cornwall Tech Week is packed full of activities and events that celebrate the thriving Cornish digital and tech industry.
With events and activities taking place across the region from 7 - 13 December, the event aims to raise the profile of the industry by highlighting some of the major success stories that Cornwall has to boast. The event organisers believe that despite many business operating on a global scale from their Cornwall bases, that this fact is not always known. Highlighting these successes will help to attract and retain top tech talent now and in the future. They say: "We want to change that during Tech Week. We hope to raise the aspirations of the next generation by letting them know of the great digital companies on their doorstep, we want to help teachers delivering the new national computing curriculum and we want to have fun!"

On Thursday 10 December, Tremough Innovation Centre hosts the Digital Entrepreneurs and the Internet of Things talk, from 9.45am - 12.30pm.
Shane Mitchell will kick off this session with a talk about Entrepreneurship and the Internet of Things. Shane is a business strategist focused on the market applications of technology, future of cities, communities and global innovation networks. Most recently, Shane has been leading the Internet of Things programmes at Digital Catapult. He will give examples of how entrepreneurs around the world are using open data, Internet of things (IoT), sensing platforms, and how technology can enable the social life of communities.
His talk will focus on the opportunities for Cornwall based entrepreneurs working in these areas. This event is open to local businesses, students or anyone with good ideas stemming from new technologies.
