About us

The Microelectronics iNet supports innovative companies across the South West through direct funding, practical support advice, local and sector network development and highly targeted events.

We provide advice and resources to support small to medium sized microelectronics companies across the South West and help turn business ideas into real products and services. By understanding what it takes to nurture innovation, along with the challenges faced by our particular sector, we have created the kind of practical, well targeted support required to make a difference to your business. By connecting and extending our existing networks we create real opportunities for companies in the South West.

We offer

Our £4.2m ERDF funded project began on 1 July 2010 and will run for five years.

Led by The University of the West of England we are backed by an impressive consortium of partners bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the project.

We provide an effective arena for innovation by providing networking activities, supporting new company and new product development, and assisting with transitional phases during company growth.

The iNet also forms part of a longer term vision to strengthen our globally recognised Microelectronics sector in the South West.

We support small to medium size enterprises (SMEs) across the South West of England through direct funding, practical business advice, local and sector network development and highly targeted events. 


Business Assist: we offer fast, easy access and targeted business support tailored to your individual business needs. You will work with the iNet to access expert consultancy to the value of a £1000. For example you could get 2 days of help with business development plans, a legal audit, market assessment and advice and guidance on intellectual property etc.

Project Support: offers a more extensive form of support that allows you to access further funding and leverage our network to get your bigger innovation projects off the ground.

Companies like yours are already benefiting and you too could be winning upto £10,000 in funding.

Examples of such projects could include taking a new product from concept to first prototype or helping you to enter a new market.
