Background
From what started life in a spare bedroom, PSG Cornwall has become a flourishing business and Cornwall’s premier property conveyancing search and energy performance certificate provider involved in two thirds of all the property transactions within the county.
Since relocating to the Pool Innovation Centre, PSG Cornwall has had one of its most successful years to date and has plans to expand despite tough economic conditions.
GAIN – the benefits
PSG Cornwall was one of the first companies to move into the Pool Innovation Centre in September 2010 after hearing about the Centre through the local business community and media. What struck PSG initially was its impressive broadband speed, which meant files that previously took 10 minutes to download could be acquired in a matter of seconds.
Operations manager Karen Wright said: “We send and receive a lot of large documents and plans and waiting for downloads was wasting time. The incredible broadband speed at PIC has meant we have been able to increase productivity without putting in extra hours or hiring additional staff.”
Being located on the A30 has meant accessibility to urban centres to carry out searches at council offices and to meet clients like solicitors and estate agents, as well as easy office access for members of the public. Extra available space at PIC provides PSG Cornwall with the opportunity to offer client training seminars and other events.
“The high quality of space at PIC gives us room to grow” said Karen, “and with the amount of innovative and likeminded businesses at PIC we have a choice of complementary services and networking opportunities on our doorstep.”
Whilst at PIC PSG Cornwall has expanded into new markets, working with letting agents, offering anti money-laundering checks, tenant referencing services and inventories to name but a few.
Simon Gill, Managing Partner said: “These are exciting times. Despite all the doom and gloom you read in the media, the property market in Cornwall is holding its own - the resources available at PIC have made it possible to meet the demands of the industry.”
Results and the future
