Background

TBS Cornwall Planning (TBS) was created to provide practical and economic planning and architectural solutions for small and medium size developments.

The company’s success rate has provided TBS with a steady stream of projects and is now an accredited agent with Cornwall Council’s House Holder Scheme.

GAIN – the benefits

When the owner retired in spring 2011, managing director Eireann Hassett took over the company.

Eireann heard about the Pool Innovation Centre (PIC) at a business networking event and decided to take a look and was impressed by what he saw.

“The building’s contemporary architecture demonstrated what could be achieved in Cornwall and has really inspired my work”, said Eireann.

PIC also provided networking opportunities for TBS, working with business consultants YTKO as well as becoming members of the Centre’s newly formed Green Committee.

Eireann said: “PIC is a great place to meet and work with likeminded, innovative companies and be part of a flourishing business community.  We have recently worked on a planning application for some external signage on behalf of PIC, so have been able to support the Centre through our work.”

TBS has plans to take on staff and business partners in the future. “The Pool Innovation Centre offers a professionally serviced environment with a great in-house team as well as providing stability for us to plan into the future and establish TBS in the Camborne, Redruth and Pool area”.
