A major focus of the Plymouth and South West Peninsula City Deal was to set up a Growth Hub to co-ordinate business support in the region. The Peninsula City Deal Growth Hub – being delivered in partnership by GAIN - collects into one place everything and everyone businesses need to know to help them succeed and grow – from expert business advice and mentoring to innovation workspace and R&D facilities, funding and investment support.

Supported by Somerset Chamber of Commerce, the event, at Taunton Rugby Club’s Hyde Park Conference Centre, will help connect businesses of any size and from any sector with the support they can now access to grow. Businesses will experience the Growth Hub in action, through drop-in sessions and workshops and by seeking advice and guidance from a range of experts on hand.

GAIN Partnerships Manager Paul Glossop will open the event by introducing the new business support on offer through the Growth Hub. This includes the new Business Engagement Service helpline, staffed by GAIN’s expert advisors who can direct businesses to the most appropriate services, providers and investment support. Paul will also introduce the GAIN digital exchange, gaininbusiness.com, which gives business access to a growing network of south west businesses.

Further presentations will come from Somerset County Council, Somerset Chamber, Peninsula Enterprise & UKTI, Somerset College and Somerset Business Agency.
