Have a say in deciding LEP Euro priorities
The Heart of the South West Local Enterprise Partnership is offering businesses and partners the opportunity to have a say about its priorities for European funding.
The next round of European Funding that will cover the period 2014 - 2020 is approaching and the LEP has to identify key themes that align with both National (Government) and European investment priorities.
This work is already in the planning stages with a first iteration of its European Funding Prospectus 2014 - 2020, identifying what it sees as the priorities for funding in the Devon and Somerset areas.
These are: Research and Innovation, Broadband, Employment, Skills, SME Support and the Low Carbon Economy.
These investment themes must have evidence to support the strategic importance to the area and the economic impact the money will make, what will change as a result of us securing EU Funding and what it's going to deliver.
During early 2013, the LEP will make a formal, technical case to the Government for EU funding. This is for competitive bidding against other areas. It has the potential to attract and bring in tens of millions of pounds to boost specific aspects of our local economy and achieve economic growth.
It is important for the LEP to have an opportunity to explore its approach and gather feedback from the business community and other partners, so it is offering invitations to one of the EU workshops running this month.
