South West Manufacturing Advisory Service (SWMAS) Manufacturing Fund
SWMAS has launched a new funding project to support small and medium-sized manufacturers across the region.
The Product Development Centre (PDC) is made up of two different programmes and will be part funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) Competitiveness Programme to the value of £1.53m, and the ERDF Convergence Programme to the value of £420,000.
Companies in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly will be able to apply for funding support from the Convergence programme, while business across the rest of the region will have access to the Competitiveness programme.
The Competitiveness programme is to provide small manufacturing businesses with grants to support up to 40 per cent of external costs associated with product development and should lead to at least 166 new jobs being created.
The PDC is to be in operation through to 31 March 2015.
