Tamar Science Park welcomes new creative technology client
Tamar Science Park (TSP) has strengthened its position as a focal point for technology, science and the creative industries in Plymouth by welcoming Stasis Media, the second of two digital media companies to move to the Park in as many months.
Stasis Media develops mobile applications, content-managed websites and database systems and has worked with an impressive list of national and international brands, including Henkel and Schwarzkopf Professional.
The company's move to Tamar Science Park follows the arrival of web design, development and marketing company Two Superior Studios, which opened its new office at TSP at the start of March.
Director of Stasis Media Craig Mason founded the company in 2008 after graduating with a degree in Digital Art and Technology from Plymouth University's Institute of Digital Art and Technology (iDAT).
Since then Craig has grown the business, building Stasis Media's reputation in the technology sector by contributing to open source projects and securing a number of major contracts. Craig has also returned to work at Plymouth University as a visiting lecturer, and is now looking to take on a student from iDAT for a sandwich year placement with Stasis Media.
Craig and his team of three moved into their new office at Tamar Science Park on Monday 25 March, relocating from the company's former premises at the City Business Park.
Craig Mason, Director of Stasis Media said: "Tamar Science Park is the ideal location for Stasis Media and I am delighted to have relocated. As well as excellent facilities and an image which creates a great first impression for visiting clients, Tamar Science Park has the IT capabilities to host our IT infrastructure locally, which was a key driver behind the move.
"The Park is all about science and technology and the opportunities for networking and meeting other businesses working in the industry will be another big bonus of having an office here. It will also help with maintaining close links with Plymouth University and the talented design and technology students studying there."
Stasis Media is the fifth new client to join Tamar Science Park in 2013. TSP welcomed 23 new clients in 2012, including several in the science, technology, digital and creative sectors, which are a key focus for the Park. Spread over 25 acres, the Park houses more than 80 organisations, employing around 800 people and generating nearly £100 million in revenue.

Businesses based at TSP have full access to the support and services offered by the Growth Acceleration and Investment Network (GAIN), of which TSP is a founding partner along with Plymouth University and Plymouth City Council. The networks aims to accelerate the creation, growth and investment in high quality businesses and ideas to create wealth and jobs in the region.
