GAIN, the Growth, Acceleration and Investment Network, is backing a new series of events that offer fast-growth companies the chance to find senior executives and non-executives to help with the next stage of growth.

Pitching for Management, the fastest growing entrepreneurial event concept in the UK, has announced that it will be opening in Plymouth on 20th February, having successfully launched in Exeter last year as part of an expansion into 20 cities around the UK.

Supported by Foot Anstey and Francis Clark, the event will see some of the region's most exciting entrepreneurs pitch live to senior executives, value added business angels and serial entrepreneurs to find people who can help them grow their businesses.

GAIN, which has been founded by Plymouth University, Plymouth City Council and Tamar Science Park, is partnering Pitching for Management as part of its objective to accelerate the creation, growth and investment in high quality businesses and ideas in the South West peninsula.

Julian Beer, Pro Vice-Chancellor of Plymouth University, said: "Entrepreneurial businesses create the innovation, employment and wealth that will drive us successfully out of this recession. We want to support people in their bids to create the global businesses of tomorrow and one of the best ways we can do that is by helping them to build great teams. Pitching for Management is proven to be an effective, efficient way to achieve that outcome. We are delighted they want to open in Plymouth as part of their expansion into 20 cities around the UK."

Senior executives are already stepping forward to offer their time, skills and experience to growth businesses across the UK. In Plymouth, Pitching for Management is expecting particular interest from individuals who have recently moved to the region and may relish a local second career opportunity.

Modwenna Rees-Mogg, founder and CEO of Pitching for Management, said: "Some of the region's most talented businessmen and women have already booked. They really love the fact that they can assess which businesses they can offer the most to, without the usual rigmarole of paperwork, lunches and interviews usually associated with finding a position. We already have case studies of companies in other cities achieving 10-fold growth after hiring the right senior executives at our events."

Richard Coombs, Partner at Foot Anstey, said: "We were delighted to take up the offer to host this seminal event which solves the biggest challenge any fast growing business faces - getting the people right, so they can get the business right."

Mark Greaves, Corporate Finance Partner at Francis Clark, said:

"Investors, especially venture capitalists, back teams not individuals. It is in all our interests to build management teams around great technology entrepreneurs, so they can win the investment and the debt finance they need."

Senior executives, serial entrepreneurs and value added business angels can book places now at: http://pitchingformanagementplymouth.eventbrite.com. The roles on offer will be announced one week before the event which is being held at Foot Anstey's Plymouth office in Sutton Harbour on 20th February from 4pm to 7pm.

Pitching for Management is holding a similar event in Exeter on 21st February.
