City College Plymouth to sponsor 2013 Plymouth Business Show

City College Plymouth will be the lead sponsor of the 2013 Plymouth Business Show, which will be held this summer on Wednesday 26 June 2013.

The event, organised by Plymouth Chamber of Commerce, will be held at Plymouth Pavilions and will expand on the success of last year's Business Expo, held during the inaugural Marine City Festival.

The Plymouth Business Show, which will be open to all and free to attend, will aim to promote the South West as a great place to do business. It will provide a high-profile forum in which companies of all sizes and from all industries can promote the products and services they have to offer and network with potential customers and suppliers.

David Parlby, Chief Executive at Plymouth Chamber, said: "This year's Plymouth Business Show will showcase the South West as a region with exceptional economic diversity and a real proactive approach to encouraging trade and employment, and embracing entrepreneurship.

"We are delighted to be able to confirm City College Plymouth as the lead sponsor and would like to thank them for this tremendous show of support. As the college is a patron of the Chamber, we already benefit from a close working relationship, and we are looking forward to collaborating on this important event."

Sharron Robbie, Head of Corporate Relations at City College Plymouth, said: "The College enjoys a strong and productive working relationship with the Chamber, through our Patronage and via the College's Employer Endorsement Scheme.

"The Plymouth Business Show is an exciting opportunity to showcase the vibrant and innovative business community that exists here in the South West. The College plays a major role within the community and part of that role is to ensure we are supporting wealth creation and job outcomes for the local population, whilst supporting industry to access a pool of work-ready labour.

"College staff and students will be in attendance throughout the day with event delegates being able to enjoy a range of mini treatments from our hair and beauty students. Students will also be capturing the day's events on film, including all the key note speeches and break-out sessions. This is an excellent opportunity for college students to showcase their talents whilst gaining practical hands-on experience."
