Interest-free loans available for creative industries
Creative England is offering interest-free loans of between £60,000 and £100,000 to SMEs with demonstrable high growth potential and with the commercial acumen to deliver profitable content which will make a step change in their development.
* Cross Platform TV development
* Feature film production
* Healthcare
* Government Services
* Games, Interactive Entertainment and Mobile Content
* Business To Business
* E-Learning
* Mobile applications
Creative England's Business Investment Fund 2 is open to SMEs based in the far South West (Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Somerset, Bristol and Bath).
The deadline for registrations of interest is: August 21 2013.
The funding for Round 2 (2013-14) will be £1m distributed as £60,000-£100,000 interest-free loans. The loans are to total no more than 70% of the total development budget for the project with the remaining 30% secured by the applicant prior to the closing date for full applications. This 30% must be in cash and not in-kind.
These investments are loans - not grants. The purpose of offering loans is to attempt to create a 'revolving fund', operating over a number of years which will enable Creative England to re-loan the monies repaid to other businesses and so support sustainable growth and development in the sector.
Application is a 2 stage process: applicants are required to complete a 'light tough' expression of interest. Once eligibility has been confirmed, applicants will be invited to submit a full application to illustrate the business case for investment
